A commission has never decided a pick, and never will. Plenty of the things I recommend pay me nothing. When the right answer earns me nothing, it’s still the answer, and I’ll say so in the article. If you ever catch me doing otherwise, the contact page is right there and I’ll answer publicly.
Labelling. Affiliate links carry rel="sponsored", and articles containing them show a disclosure at the top. Paid posts are labelled “Sponsored” in the title. Anything provided free or at a discount is stated at the top of that article.
Independence. Opinions, reviews and picks here are the author’s alone, and have not been reviewed, approved or endorsed by any merchant, marketplace, bank, card issuer, airline or hotel chain.
